Winter Break Sketches 2

These are the second part of the winter break sketches.
These are sperate because on these I used less line and more flow of the paint brushes.
I kinda like it...but also I'm used to using structured lines, wispy lines, and more defined subjects than just the simply drawn line to represent a tree.
But I like to try new approaches so I will keep experimenting!
Done with also gouache watercolor paint.

All the illustrations are from photo references!

Winter Break Sketches

These are sketches that a few I did over winter break. I was mostly experimenting with gouache paint and a pencil drawing here and there. I really don't like drawing with pencil strictly, but I can't help but look at the bear sketch because of the contrast. I hope to experiment with both mediums in the near future. I am really loving gouache watercolor paint, because of the rich pigments and the thick paint. I think..it's actually a better control medium.
I really enjoy drawing mostly wildlife, landscapes and botanical subjects, because of the availability and beauty.
But I would like to draw more human figures.

And the landscape illustration is a prairie landscape from the Neil Wildlife center in Prairie City, Iowa.

All the illustrations are from reference photos!
